This afternoon I had a bottle of Marsannay Rose dropped off for me to try. Now normally, I don’t buy still Rose past a certain price point. But as I sit here drinking this 100% Pinot Noir Rose, I took the plunge. First off, I have had this wine in Burgundy before but it never made it to the states. In 1985 Louis Jadot bought Domaine Clair-Dau (Yes related to Bruno Clair) and has continued to use their name. So for me this is the Top Echelon of Rose. Complex, sophisticated and well….Burgundian!
Only 14 six packs made it to Florida.

Beautiful light pink color. The nose explodes with fresh strawberries, raspberries and peaches. The palate is vibrant with orange zest, cherry cola, nectarine and passion fruit. The acidity is bright and there is impressive depth and vigor. No austerity on the finish as in common in many rose it is charming, has great tension and texture and is simply delicious. What food would you pair with this? Just about anything.
