SUPER Sicilian Reds on CLOSEOUT!
In the southeastern corner of Sicily, west of Modica and Ragusa, the town of Vittoria is the home of Sicily’s sole DOCG (Italy’s strictest form of wine certification), known as Cerasuolo di Vittoria. Cerasuolo is an enlightened blend of Frappato and Nero d’Avola, and the two grapes when blended create a harmonious symphony of flavor and texture. This wine is truly the heart of Sicily and is the reason it is the only DOCG wine on the island.
Today’s offering you will find three great examples of this special red blend. Check our prices, we beat EVERYONE and some by as much as $20btl.

This wine is a blend of 60% Nero d’Avola and 40% Frappato, aged in oak for 12 months. The 2015 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico is a bright, almost glossy expression that delivers pure and elegant fruit. This wine offers a clean and feminine bouquet with blue flower aromas that are followed by wild cherry and dried raspberry. This estate stands out for the elegant and finessed approach bestowed on these two unruly and spirited Sicilian native varieties.
2014 Gurrieri * Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico Don Vice
93+pts WS, 92pts JS
Reg. price- $29.99btl
EMAIL SALE- $22.99btl
This is a tremendous wine from a single vineyard. The 2014 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Don Vice reveals beautiful integrity and elegance with wild raspberry, blue flower and raw pistachio nut that is a bit sweet and salty at the same time. The bouquet is almost electric. It has many elements that recall a young Nebbiolo with powdered licorice, cola and dried ginger. I tasted this wine from vat and tasted it again as a finished product. The label has been restyled to boast one of the most distinctive and contemporary designs I have even seen in Italian wine.
2014 Arianna Occhipinti * Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico Grotte Alte- LIMITED
94pts RP, 95+pts JS
Reg. price- $84.99btl
EMAIL SALE- $69.99btl
Made with Nero d’Avola and Frappato in equal parts, this is a mature, alluring and sultry wine. The 2014 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico Grotte Alte is released now after having acquired extended bottle aging since the harvest four years ago. Like the monovarietal Nero d’Avola also reviewed here, this wine offers an evident balsamic character with medicinal herb, licorice and cola. I am delighted by the integrity of the bouquet in a wine that had evidently embraced its evolutionary trajectory with gusto. Grotte Alte shows a dark, inky color with chewy extract and powerful tones of dried raspberry fruit and black currants. It offers a solid sense of structure thanks to the mild tannins and generous fruit buildup it delivers to the palate. Cerasuolo di Vittoria is usually engineered for near-term drinking, but this sample shows the potential for extra bottle aging. Just spectacular!
