At the beginning of the year I offered the two below wines and sold out promptly. They have just come back in stock are available once again. So those who missed out the first time around, this is your chance. Below is what I wrote the first time these wines were offered.
A question for Burgundy Lovers…..Want to drink Top Notch wines at prices that seem to good to be true? About three months ago I was tasting with an importer the wines of Moillard Grivot whose Domaine is located in Nuits St Geroges. I was astounded by several things. The quality of the wines was superb, they were terroir correct and the pricing seemed like it was from 20 years ago! To say the least, I was impressed. Two of the wines I ordered just arrived today, an amazing Bourgogne, Blanc and Rouge, . Of course we opened a bottle of each immediately not caring that it was 10am! Just as good as I remembered. And at these prices, a true Burgundian Bargain. Grab at least a case of each these two gems you will not regret it!

MOILLARD GRIVOT CELLARS
Appearing under many labels; Charles Thomas, Thomas-Moillard, Moillard and Moillard-Grivot, Maison Moillard is a major operation in the Côte d’Or with a long history. Symphorien Moillard married vine owner Margueritte Grivot in 1848. The business, however, only really began to grow after 1850, following a chance meeting in Nuits St.Georges between a travelling Belgian notary and Symphorien Moillard. Together they tasted the Moillard wines, and so impressed was the notary that he persuaded Symphorien to make selections of wines to send to Belgium – this was the start of Moillard’s wine trading and its first export activity. Jumping to modern times, my friend and winemaker extraordinaire, Pascal Marchand of Comte Armand, Domaine de la Vougeraie and now Marchand Tawse was hired in 2007 to improve the quality of the wines and that certainly was the case

A wonderful straw color is followed by aromas apples, pear, flowers and white peach. There is good tension and acidity on the satiny palate that is both layered and concentrated. The finish is vibrant and fresh with a hint of citrus zest on the surprisingly long and complex finish. Superb Burgundy on a Budget! Who thought that could happen?
*2018 Bourgogne Rouge Moillard Grivot
$16.99BTL/$183.49 PER CASE

This wine punches way above its weight. A slew of juicy red fruits waft from the glass of raspberries, red cherries and blackberries. In the mouth it is medium bodied and both supple and satiny. There is a slight saline quality that mixes nicely with the balanced acidity and core of fine fruit. The finish is tangy and energetic with pleasing structure. Entry level wine? I think not.
