96+ Brunello Riserva WPW EXCLUSIVE
Luca Brunelli runs this 15-hectare estate with five hectares dedicated to Brunello. The name of the farm is Martoccia but the brand name is Brunelli. The Martoccia history starts from far away. We have some news about Martoccia as farm and land in 1300. Here is what can be read in the parchment papers of the Convent of Sant’Agostino, in which the vineyards of Martoccia are the subject of notarial acts and trade. In 1964, the Brunelli family moved to Martoccia a small farm of about three hectares. In 1995, together with Luca, only child of Anna and Mauro, they bought more land where they planted vines. And now Luca has taken over and the wines keep getting better and better.

2013 Brunelli * Brunello di Montalcino Riserva
CRAZY EMAIL SIX PACK DEAL-$534/6pk ($89btl)
This is a terrific wine that performs with grace, elegance and lengthy endurance. The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva stands out in my mind as one of the most enjoyable riservas I have tasted from this classic vintage. The aromas are balanced and neatly tucked in. The effect it seamless and smooth with a virtual continuum of wild berry, rose, spice and autumnal aromas. Nothing is out of place and the wine feels glossy and polished in terms of mouthfeel. The tannins are firm but expertly integrated, giving this wine a prolonged future drinking window.
