94pt Ribera and 95pt Argentina Red- $40 and Under in OWC

We sometimes forget that we also have great wines from other parts of the world outside of Italy and France. So, here are two gems that are worthy of our MUST BUY wines.

Ribera del Duero is one of Spain’s most well known regions and Cillar de Silos is one of the top producers. Check this price, it sells for over $50btl everywhere else.

Buscado El Cerro is one of the highest altitude vineyards in Argentina. This little winery is quickly becoming one of the country’s best producer but still under the radar and still very affordable. We crush the price online for this great red blend.

Wines are in stock but quantities are VERY limited! NO CALLS will be taken, you must respond to this email to secure your order!

2014 Cillar de Silos * Flor de Silos
Ribera del Duero, Spain
94pts RP
Reg. price- $54.99btl
Email deal- $48btl or
$228.00 ($38btl) per six pack in wood case

This time I preferred the 2014 Flor de Silos over the Torresilo from this same vintage. It comes from one single vineyard planted at 900 meters altitude and it might contain some white Albillo grapes, which is common to find intermixed with the Tempranillo in the old vineyards. This is what I expect from an old-vine Ribera del Duero, power with restraint, elegance and balance, a polished mouthfeel and velvety tannins. It matured in a combination of 225- and 500-liter oak barrels during 17 months. Classical Ribera for the long haul.

2015 Buscado Vivo o Muerto * El Cerro Gualtallary
Mendoza, Argentina
95pts RP
Reg. price- $59.99btl
Email deal- $49btl or
$240.00 ($40btl) per six pack in wood case

The 2015 El Cerro Gualtallary is Malbec and Cabernet Franc from a vineyard on a small hill at 1,300 meters in altitude with granite and limestone soils. Like the rest of the range, it fermented with some 20% full clusters and matured in 500-liter oak barrels for 15 months. It’s somehow reticent, closed and ungiving, with subtle aromas, very fine chalky tannins, hints of aromatic herbs and a tasty, long finish. Only 6,000 bottles produced. STUNNING!
